McDonald says, “ In each drawing and painting I make with the bull as subject, I am searching for an inherent strength in their nature and sensibilities. At the same time, the way they are physically put together; their strength and muscularity, their form, is beautifully simple and balanced.”

“ Our furniture is just an extension of this idea, but it has a predominant functional element that is not a factor in visual art works. This makes them compelling to undertake in a different way; a chair must be excellent to sit on, but as a piece, the elegant simplicity of all form is what we aspire to in order to convey the most emotive power.”

“John and I both approach what we are doing with the same combination of poetry and practical reality. We are excited by each new piece and its possibilities.” Madden says, "We consider the moo-ness of things."

With the careful selection of quality timbers and materials, the furniture is designed and made both for comfort, and to establish uniqueness, longevity and collectibility.

The materials are sourced from reputable distributors. There is little waste, particularly the timber. Every piece of scrap is used somewhere, if not in the original piece. The manufacturing process occurs using simple equipment, and the polishing process is conducted within a controlled environment which meets all industry standards. We use only premium quality cowhides.

From the conception and design through to the turning, gluing and polishing; the whole process involves people working together with energy and enthusiasm to craft and finish a beautiful one off piece.
